Mark Alan Borg

Mark Alan Borg, 64, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on July 4th 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Mark was born Feb. 4th 1961 in Burlingame, California, the firstborn son of Roy Borg and Alice Howell Borg. He grew up in Denver, Colorado and graduated from Arvada High School. He attended Bob Jones University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics. Mark joined the Navy as an officer in 1985, and served as a Naval Aviator until he retired with an honorable discharge in 2015. His service included duty stations across the US as well as several deployments throughout the Pacific. His final tour was as a flight instructor at NAS Whiting Field. He loved instructing new aviators. After retiring from the Navy, he continued as a military contractor flight instructor teaching aspiring military aviators in flight simulators at NAS Whiting Field for over 20 years. Mark married Claire Barrett on November 3rd, 1984 in New Jersey. They were married 41 wonderful years and had three children; Ryan, Tyler, and Stephanie. They moved all over the United States while Mark was serving his country before retiring in Pensacola, FL. Mark was an adventurer and his love of traveling took him to all 50 states. He really loved visiting National Parks, with Yellowstone being his favorite. Mark also traveled around the world with the love of his life, Claire, to exotic locales like Italy, Iceland, Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Alaska, Japan, and France in recent years to name a few. Mark was a faithful Christian and member of Faith Baptist Church for more than 32 years. He served faithfully in multiple ministries including as a deacon, choir member, Sunday School teacher, and several positions in different youth ministries. Mark was an incredibly caring and compassionate man who always put others before himself. He selflessly served his family and community. Always willing to lend a hand or a shoulder to cry on. A man of tremendous humility and constant humor, he was always there to make you laugh no matter how challenging the situation. He will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege to know him. Remaining to cherish Mark’s memory are his wife, Claire; children, Ryan (Leah), Tyler (Ashley), and Stephanie (Stephen); grandchildren, Aurora, Celeste, Adria, Skylar, Iliana, Gavin, Jaina, and Percival; brothers and sisters, Susan (John), Steven (Diana), John (Vicky), and Joanne; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Jeffrey Bailie officiating. The family will receive friends prior
