Marion Geraldine Moore

Marion Moore, age 94, of Pensacola, FL, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family as the Atlanta Braves won their game in the background. She was born on October 22, 1929, in Phoenix, AZ, to Jerry and Mae Cox Fariss. Marion grew up in San Diego, CA, where she met her husband, Jesse Moore. They later relocated to Pensacola, FL, where they started a family and spent 63 wonderful years together. A devoted member of Marcus Point Baptist Church, Marion cherished her time with her Faith Finder Small Group. She had a passion for sewing, cooking, gardening, and singing in the church choir. Marion found joy in hosting family gatherings, whether it was a brunch, cookout, or birthday party. She was truly the glue that held her family together. She was also a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves, never missing a chance to cheer on her favorite team. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Moore; her daughter, Teresa Moore McClenithan; her two sons, Jeff Moore and Lynn Moore; and her grandsons, David Moore and Lester Fontenot. Lynn’s wife, Peggy Moore, survives her. Marion is survived by her children: Michael Moore and his wife Ann, Alan Moore, and Terilyn Moore. She was lovingly known as “Noanie” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a name affectionately given by her first grandchild, Brian Daniels, who, as a child, mispronounced “honey” as “Noanie,” a term that stuck and was cherished by all. Her beloved grandchildren are: Brian Daniels and his wife Ginger, Steven Daniels and his wife Dana, Lori Daniels, John Michael Moore, Brandon Moore and his wife Lily, Megan Moore, Jesse Moore, Kristin Austin and her husband Chris, Justin Moore, and Ashley Milheim and her husband Chris. Marion is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-great-grandchildren. A service to honor Marion’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Visitation for family will be from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m., followed by general visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. A procession and burial will follow at Eastern Gate Cemetery.
