Margaret R. Rodak

Margaret Rose Rodak, 67, peacefully went home to her Lord and Savior on October 9, 2020 after a courageous, decade long battle with cancer. Margaret Rose, Peggy to her family and Maggie Rose to her friends, is survived by her twin brother, Paul Avery Rodak, numerous cousins, and many loyal, dedicated friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Margaret Perkins Rodak, and her father, Walter Edward Rodak. Margaret “Maggie Rose,” always determined and forward thinking, was a talented artist and musician. She had a beautiful voice which she used to entertain audiences and to worship her Lord and Savior. Maggie Rose grew as an artist throughout her life. She was a proud member of Barbara Beck’s Choral Program at J. M. Tate High School, and participated in student choirs while attending Florida State University. Some of her fondest memories included being a cast member in numerous St. Ann’s musicals and Pensacola Little Theater performances. The spectrum of music she appreciated and studied ranged from classical music, to musical theater, to rock and roll, to hymns and praise music. She learned to play guitar, keyboard, and began writing music. She was a tremendous talent. Maggie Rose was a devout Catholic; her faith was evident in almost every conversation. She is a present-day member of The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, and in her childhood, youth, and young adult life, she worshiped and sang at St. Jude Catholic Church in Cantonment. Maggie Rose also attended services at St. Monica’s Episcopal Church where she, again, sang with the choir. She is a graduate of Tate High School and the University of West Florida. She loved to cheer for her beloved Florida State Seminoles and New Orleans Saints. Her eclectic musical tastes in secular music ranged from Barry Manilow to The Stones to Poison, and Maggie Rose loved experiencing all of these artists, and more, in concert. Her family would like to thank her incredibly supportive friends, music teachers, church members, doctors, and priests for their untiring support of Maggie Rose throughout the years. A funeral service is scheduled on October 21, 2020 with Visitation and Rosary at 10:00 a.m. and Mass at 11:00 a.m. at The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Father John Licari will officiate.
