Madie Jo McNorton Golden 1931-2014 Madie Jo McNorton Golden, 83, of Pensacola, FL went home to be with her Lord and Savior, her "best friend", on Tues., Oct. 28, 2014, after a short battle with cancer. Madie Jo was born on Feb. 5, 1931, to the late James “Jim” Thomas McNorton and the late Ida Nancy Blackwell McNorton in Repton, AL. She was the last surviving child of sixteen children. She met and fell in love with Charles F. Golden, to whom she was married to for 61 years before he went on to be with the Lord. They founded and pastored Solid Rock Holiness Church in Pensacola, FL. She remained the “mother of the church” even after Bro. Golden passed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Rev. Charles Franklin Golden and great grandson, Patrick Randall Wood. Madie Jo is survived by her three daughters, Peggy T. Spivey, Patsy G. (Jimmy) Flowers and Pamela R. (Bill) Minchew; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren, She enjoyed crocheting, word find puzzles, gardening, cooking, and being surrounded by family and friends. She loved everyone she met and was an avid prayer warrior. She was “Mother” and “MawMaw” to her family as well as many others who were not related and “Aunt Madie Jo” and “Sis Golden” to many others as well. She may be gone, but she will never be forgotten. We love and miss you! A special thank you to all of the doctors, nurses, health care staff and the staff at Joyce Goldenberg Hospice facility for all the care she received during her sickness. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Fri., Oct. 31, 2014 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Drew Minchew and Rev. Frankie Bell, officiating. Burial will follow in Pensacola Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thurs., Oct. 30, 2014 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: J.R. Flowers, Aaron Wood, Timmy Spivey, Lynn McNorton, Caleb Flowers, Charlie Flowers, Christian Wood and Dylan Wood. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Ricky Hendricks, Tim Laney, Bernie Wall, Darryl Smith, Brandon Edwards, Jeff Halftown, Kevin Windham, and Billy Golden. FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME NORTH, 1000 S.
