Lori Ann Delware

Lori was born on February 1, 1963 in Macomb, Illinois to Marjorie Ann Berry and Ralph Eugene Berry. She is survived by her brother, Lonnie Berry, three stepsisters: Madeline Smith, Tracy & Nicole Warner, and two stepbrothers: Mel Lynch and Sean Warner. She was married to Wesley Delware from Leander, Texas, who was also in the US Navy. They have three children, Becky Walters-Delware, Amanda, and Wesley, and four grandchildren, Roman, Mercedes, Caleb, and Elijah. Lori had various hobbies including traveling, camping, sports, and cross-stitching. She joined the United States Navy in August 1981. Her military service had her stationed at the Personnel, Support Detachment (PSD) in Norfolk, Virginia and Patrol Squadron Eight (VP-8) at NAS Brunswick, Maine. She served eight years separating in 1989 as an E5, Personnelman, second class. Lori’s military awards include the Meritorious Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, USCG Special Operational Service Ribbon, and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. She began the second phase of her career with the United States Government in Civil Service from 1989-2018. Lori medically retired in 2018 with Huntington’s Disease (HD). She served and volunteered in a variety of responsibilities which included: American Cancer Society (ACS) Relay for Life team, Church Board member in Human Resources, Sunday School teacher for young adults, Various committee positions both in Cub Scouts & Boy Scouts, volunteering as a classroom Teachers Aid with elementary school disabled students, and at a local Christian Thrift Store. Together, their careers took them to Maine, Azores, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Florida. Together, Lori and Wes, along with Margaret Jerauld, established the Pensacola “Huntington’s Disease Support Group” (HDSG) at the Council on Aging.
