Linda Joyce Shipps

Linda Joyce Shipps passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021. She was born on April 7, 1951 in Atmore, Alabama to the late Joe F. Sr. and Letha McGhee. Linda was a member of Ferry Pass Pentecotal Church, Pensacola, FL. First and most importantly, she lived a Christian life and was an example to all who knew her. She spent most of her life as a mother and grandmother. Her main goal in life was to see all of her family ready to meet the Lord. She is rembered as a humble loving and sweet little short lady with a twinkle in her eyes. She was a woman of faith and few words but was always ready to give a direct and honest answer. Her reward in Heaven will be a great one. Linda is preceded in death by both her parents, Joe Francis Sr. and Letha McGhee; son, Kevin Shipps; brother, Joe F. McGhee Jr.; sister, Sybil Smedley; sister-in-law, Linda McGhee; nephew, Wade Steverson. She is survived by her 5 daughters, Tonya Flynn, Rhonda Taylor, Joy Clopton, Angela Shipps and Marcia Shipps; son, Mark Shipps; 16 grandchildren Blaine, Taylor, Kyle, Jake, Christopher, Jamie, Kayla, Mark Jr, Nathan, Shane, Britney, Kaitlen, Justin, Michael Jr., Shanna and Andrew; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Patricia, Sandra and Veronica; brothers, Fredrick and Kenneth; 2 special sister-in-laws, Carol and Stella; and numerous nieces and nephews. The viewing will be on Monday, September 20, 2021 6:00PM – 9:00PM. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 12:30PM. All services will be located at Ferry Pass Pentecostal Church, North Davis Hwy, Pensacola, Florida. With Reverend B.W. Adams, III officiating. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Blaine Flynn, Taylor Flynn, Mark Shipps, Christopher Knorr, Shane Clopton, Michael Harrelson, Jr., Kyle Flynn and Justin Henderson. Honarary Pallbearers will be Jake Flynn, Nathan Shipps, Andrew Harrelson, Thomas McGhee, Cameron Wessel and Kenny McGhee. Special thanks to Dr. John Sullivan and the COVID E.R. nurses at Baptist Hospital for an outstanding job in the treatment of our beloved mother and grandmother. We are forever grateful!
