Lewis Arnold Wooten III

Lewis (Sonny) Arnold Wooten III, of Cantonment, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2024. He was born on September 6, 1948, in Pensacola, Florida, to Dorothy Marie (Enfinger) Wooten and Lewis Arnold Wooten II. Lewis graduated from Tech High School, Pensacola, Florida in 1966. He was inducted into the Army on May 21,1968 and served two years 22 days before discharge as a Sergeant. Lewis married Nancy Louise (Mohr) Vinke on November 10, 1984. They were married 39 years and 8 months prior his death. Lewis retired from Public Works Department, federal civil service in Pensacola, Florida in September 1998. Lewis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved his wonderful children, Brent (Samantha) Vinke and Bradley Vinke; grandchildren, Matthew (Kate) Vinke, Zachary (Guadalupe) Vinke, Cathryn Vinke- Sanson (Joshua), Tyler Vinke and Eric Vinke; and great grandchild, Wyatt Vinke. They held a very special place in his heart. He loved hunting, fishing, and playing games with his family. He loved having his family around him. He was Pentecostal by faith, but attended Marcus Pointe Baptist Church with his son, Bradley and his family. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Marie Wooten and Lewis Arnold Wooten II , Myra (Wooten) Chavers and her spouse Raymond Chavers; and his son Bradley's wife, Ashlie Vinke. He is survived by his wife , Nancy (Mohr) Vinke Wooten, of Cantonment, Florida; two sons, Brent Vinke (Samantha) of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Bradley Vinke, of Camden, Alabama; five grandchildren, Matthew (Kate) Vinke, of Austell, Georgia, Zachary (Guadalupe) Vinke, of Lawrenceville, Georgia; Cathryn Vinke-Sanson (Joshua) of Winder, Georgia; Tyler Vinke, of Pensacola, Florida and Eric Vinke, of Pensacola, Florida; one great grandson, Wyatt Vinke, of Lawrenceville, Georgia; and step-daughter, Shelli Vaughn (Glenn). He is survived by his brothers, John (Shelia) Wooten and Gary Wooten; sister, Sharon (Wayne) Norris and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brent Vinke, Bradley Vinke, Matthew Vinke, Zachary Vinke, Cathryn-Vinke Sanson, Tyler Vinke, Eric Vinke, and Wyatt Vinke Visitation will be held at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South at 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM, Thursday, July 11, 2024. Funeral services will follow at 9:30 AM with Gerald Wooten officiating. Interment will be held in Barrancas National Cemetery at NAS Pensacola, Florida.
