Leonard Eugene Wogsland

Heaven opened its gates to receive one of God’s Victorious Chosen Ones, Leonard E. Wogsland, on July 17th, 2021, after a brief fight with Covid. Leonard was born in Moorhead, Minnesota on January 27, 1953, a son of the late Gordon and Elaine (Somdalen) Wogsland. He obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota in Computer Science and went on to live a full life. He married the love of His life, Kathleen Hegre, the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Connor) Hegre, in 1980 and they went on to have 3 children: Mike, Molly, and Meghann. He excelled in everything he put his hand on, whether it was working as a handyman, selling IT equipment, creating Salvation tracts, or developing and creating useful products, including his most famous invention, The Chicken Cooler. He was a hard worker who put the well-being and care of his family first. He loved God, and as a result of his time with God, he overflowed with Love towards people. He especially loved to write songs and sing them to his family. He was also an amazingly talented cook and baker. There was never a problem that he couldn’t fix. He was the Patriarch and Rock of his family. He loved his family and was fiercely proud of his Grandchildren! Mr. Wogsland is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathleen (Hegre) Wogsland; a brother, Dave (Laurie) Wogsland; a sister, Patricia (Daryl) Murray; a son, Michael (Siera) Wogsland; two daughters, Molly (Rafael) Perez and Meghann (Nathan) Dube; 18 grandchildren, Hannah Perez, Rafael Perez, Keido Wogsland, Peter Perez, Susan Dube, Kento Wogsland, Emma Perez, Patrick Dube, Kairo Wogsland, Levi Perez, Elizabeth Perez, Kenya Wogsland, Havilah Perez, Judah Perez, Kiera Wogsland, Addilyn Perez, MaryJane Dube, and Benjamin Perez; close friends, Michael (Patricia) Leighton and Brian (Sharon) Gustafson; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 6th, at 10:30 AM at Olive Baptist Church (1836 E Olive Rd, Pensacola, FL 32514).
