Kevin Darion Wells

Kevin Darion Wells, 56, of Cropwell, AL, departed from us on January 18th, 2021, due to a tragic accident. He is survived by his loving mother, Jeanette Wells; two sons, Hunter and Colby Wells; his wife, Deborah Wells; step-children, Sarah and Micah Woodin; and grandchildren, Lane and Ellie. Kevin was born on August 7th, 1964, to John and Jeanette Wells in Pensacola, FL. After graduating from J.M. Tate High School in 1982, he went on to get an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science from Pensacola Junior College. After graduation, he landed a job with Southern Company out of the Gulf Power Christ Plant in Pensacola, FL. This resulted in a career spanning 35 years, 2 plants, a myriad of positions, and quite a few lifelong friendships along the way. Kevin Wells was a lot of man bottled up into a 5ft 9in body. He feared no job required to provide for his family and believed in going the extra mile in every responsibility he took on. He loved his mother and father greatly, and when he was not visiting, he made sure he was on the phone with them daily. John and Jeanette held great pride in their son. He was a loving and attentive husband. His own sons were his pride and joy, from attending marching band competitions and little league football games, to providing support for frustrated young college students and catching bigguns with them out on the boat. He truly pushed his boys to be their best at any endeavor they took on, just as his parents did to him. It goes without saying, Kevin was an avid fisherman. It's hard to argue that was not his favorite, but there were so many other things that put a sparkle in his eye. Helping both his boys bag and tag rack bucks, grill a mean steak, rile up his armada of bulldogs, and watch more cheesy sci-fi movies and Bigfoot documentaries than you could shake a stick at. Kevin was washed in the blood of the Lamb in 1989. He’s with Jesus now. He has his 20ft bass boat hitched to his blue Mach 1 Mustang in Heaven. We look forward to being with you in the future.
