Kevin Paul Shipps, “Shrimp Boy”, age 39, of Pensacola, FL passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015. Kevin was born in Pensacola to Linda and Ernest Shipps on December 10. 1975, at the old University Hospital. He was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, Atmore, AL. Kevin was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Joe and Letha McGhee, Glen Fulmer and Eva Shipps, his Uncle, Joe McGhee, Jr., and Aunt, Sybil Smedley. He is survived by his mother, Linda Shipps, father Ernest (Sandra) Shipps, brother, Mark Shipps, Sr., and sisters, Tonya Flynn (David), Rhonda Taylor (Jason), Joy Clopton, Angela Shipps and Marcia Shipps. He was a proud Uncle of 5 nieces and 11 nephews, 2 great-nieces and 5 great-nephews. Kevin loved the Miami Dolphins and could easily tell you any statistics related to sports. He loved going out to eat with his family, watching any sports games on TV, eating pixie sticks and doting on his nieces and nephews. If he was worried about you, you knew it, because he would text and ask how you were doing, followed by, “what ya eatin?” He loved company to come over and, as far as he was concerned, no one ever overstayed their welcome, because he loved to visit. He was in charge of appointing nick names to his nieces and nephews and many of them still go by these names today. Arrangements are being handled by Faith Chapel South, with visitation scheduled for Wednesday, November 11 from 6pm to 9pm, receiving family at 5pm. Services at Faith Chapel South, officiated by Pastor Bill Adams and Brother Steve Ward, on Thursday, November 12 at 1:30pm, receiving family at 12:30pm. Interment will be at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery with closing words by his Brother-in-law David Flynn. Reception, following the services will be held at The Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ, 6728 N. Davis Hwy, Pensacola, FL. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all of the family members and health care facilities and providers, that provided care to Kevin during his illness and untimely death.
