Keith Alan Ross

Keith Alan Ross, of Pensacola, passed away November 2, 2023. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky, February 18, 1958, to Dr. James Pheane and Margaret May Ross. As a young man, Keith was a supply boat crew member and then headed survey teams to find oil. This often involved dropping dynamite down test holes in the alligator swamps and rattlesnake deserts of Texas and Louisiana. As the oil business transitioned to satellite, Keith turned his interests to property management. Keith’s fondness for Victorian and Craftsman houses saved many of Pensacola’s historic homes. The rescue and restoration of the Pensacola Victorian Bed and Breakfast was one of his favorite projects. He was a member of Leaders and was a T&W Flea Market regular. He was a mentor to his nephews and others in the community. Keith’s real passion was being on the water. He could be seen on all sorts of watercraft but his most favorite was his Charles Morgan Trawler. For almost 20 years Keith, his sweetheart, Susie Conner and Annie, dachshund extraordinaire, would cruise Pensacola’s waterways and finding a site to their liking, would drop anchor and spend a few amazing days. He would laugh about this saying, “If the wind wasn’t perfect or the sunrise not just right, we could pull anchor and change the view”. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. James Pheane and Margaret May Ross and his brother, Daryl Pheane Ross. Keith is survived by his sisters, Amy Ross Coyner and husband William F. Coyner, their children, Brittany Coyner Alburn, husband Tyson C. Alburn; grandnieces, Adelaide V. Alburn and Eliza S. Alburn, and niece Maria Coyner; Lisa Ross and children, Cody Resmondo and partner Lindsey Trotta; grandnephew, Louis Wayne Resmondo; Jarrod Resmondo and fiancé, Christie Progen. Keith loved life and will always be remembered for his quick smile and positive attitude. Even as he battled a 20-year illness, he would always encourage others. We have all lost a bright light. Memorial Service to be determined at a later date.
