Katie Sue Gates Bohanick 87, of Pensacola, Florida went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, March 26th, 2019. Katie is preceded in death by the father of her children Leo Bohanick, three sons: Gary Bohanick, David Bohanick, and Rusty Bohanick. a grandson Ben "Benjie" Bohanick Jr. Also her parents M.J. and Mamie Gates, her sisters Helen Morris, Sue Nelson, Virgie Roselli, Iona Quattrone, Jean Ayers, Rena Gates and brothers Ronald Gates and Gerald Gates. She is survived by brother M.J. "Bud" Gates and his wife Priscilla, Pensacola, Fl, and sisters Sylvia "Doodle" Enfinger, Pensacola, Fl; Dixie Welch, Pensacola, Fl; Pat Kuhar and Faye Rueff (Jim) and brother in law Charles Ayers. Her surviving sons are: Leo "Ron" Bohanick and his wife, Linda, Kent, WA., Joseph Bohanick, Tucson, AZ., Ben Bohanick and his wife, Charlotte, Lucedale, MS, Brian "Randy" Bohanick and his wife, Lisa, Mount Joy, PA, Jeffrey Bohanick, Shenandoah, PA and daughter in law Charlotte Bohanick, Wernersville, PA., Angela Bohanick, Helena, MS; 21 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews. Katie Sue was born and raised a country girl in Pensacola, Fl. She was multi-talented self driven, take charge mother and business woman. She was a gourmet cook, seamstress and interior decorator. She sold cosmetics, ran a carpet and interior design store and was a carpet Mill Rep. and more. Her business history includes owner of The Carpet Barn, Katie's Carpet and Interiors, and American Gallery Art and Frame Outlet. She loved to cook, dance, travel and fellowship with her family and friends. But her most fulfilling joy was her eight "boys". She was like a drill sergeant training her sons to thoroughly clean a house, do dishes by hand, dust and polish furniture, wash and iron clothes and sit still in church. She loved and was loved by many and will be missed greatly. Services will be held Saturday, March 30th at Solid Rock Baptist Church, 6760 Eastgate Rd. Milton, Fl 32570. Family and friends may visit at 9-11AM prior to the service. Funeral Service begins at 11AM. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall at the church immediately after the service.
