Joyce Ann Parazine August 14, 1939 – February 27, 2025 Joyce Ann Parazine, 85, died Thursday, February 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Parazine was born August 14, 1939, in Selma, Alabama to J.P. and Margaret Harris. Joyce moved to Pensacola at a young age, attended local schools and graduated from Pensacola High School in 1957. She married the love of her life, Clyde Parazine, on November 2, 1957. Joyce was a faithful member of Olive Baptist Church for over 70 years where she served in many capacities. She worked in the nursery, Vacation Bible School, children’s choirs and served on various committees. Joyce loved singing in the Adult Choir and she and Clyde often sang duets. Mrs. Parazine was a homemaker, avid reader and golfer. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A family tradition was going to the mountains at Thanksgiving with the whole family. Mrs. Parazine is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, of 60 years; her parents, J.P. and Margaret Harris; and brothers-in-law, Charles (Buddy) Parazine and Hal Parazine. She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Chris) Golightly of Pensacola; son, Randy (Sandie) Parazine of Pace; grandson, Brett (Carolyn) Golightly and their daughter Millie of Celina, TX; granddaughter, Kristen Golightly of Knoxville, TN; grandson, Ryan (Kayla) Parazine and their children Truett, Ann Clayton and George of Mobile, AL; brother, Pete (Betty) Harris of Pensacola; sisters-in-law, Gay Parazine of Pensacola, Carla Parazine of Bald Knob, AR; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends at Olive Baptist Church on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Dr. Ted Traylor, Dr. Jerry Passmore and grandsons Brett Golightly and Ryan Parazine officiating. Pall bearers will be Brett Golightly, Ryan Parazine, Dr. Larry Morris, Dean Anderson, Johnny Newton and Paul Talley. Burial will follow at Bayview Cemetery.
