John Leslie Pollard, AKA, 'Christian's Daddy', as he liked to be known as, went to meet his angels on April 2, 2012. John is preceded in death by his father, Claude Leslie Pollard; his maternal grandparents, Felo John Sr. and Lois Sevella Resmondo; his paternal grandparents, Alvie Adee and Marian Elizabeth Pollard. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Beth” Pollard; the light of his life, his son, Christian “Big Big' John Leslie Pollard whom he loved with every part of his being. He is also survived by his loving mother, Evelyn A. Taylor and James Taylor; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Reverend JB and Rebecca Shoumaker; his dear brother and sister-in-law, Robert “Rob” and Brenda Pollard; his eldest sister, Michele “Shell” Brooks; his youngest sister and brother-in-law, Darlene 'Toot Toot” and Timothy Pugh; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Shane and Michelle Shoumaker. John will also leave to cherish his nieces and nephews; Christy Michele Pike, Courtney Michele Harris, Cecily Koren Medrano, Lindsay Brianne Pollard, Aaron Moses Medrano, Skyler Shoumaker, Morgan Shoumaker, and Katie Shoumaker; his great nephew, Cameron Patrick Hales; his many uncles, aunts and cousins. Our loss is immeasurable, the pain unbearable. John our lives will forever he changed without you. We all wish we could have one more hug, one more kiss, or even one more word, but we know that even a million would never be enough. John’s greatest joy was being 'Christian Daddy”. He was so proud of his “Big Big” the great ballplayer. They shared the love of sports together, He was such a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Florida Gators. John played hard, loved hard and prayed hard. If he was there you knew it. He was so full of life and energy. If there were kids around he was most likely trying to create some game for them all to play. John was an active member of Bellview Assembly of God where he worked with the Royal Rangers. Active pallbearers will be his cousins and brother-in-law; Felo Resmondo IV, Patrick Resmondo, Michael Resmondo, George Resmondo Jr., Bruce Lindsay and Shane Shoumaker. Visitation and services will be held at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South. The family will receive friends at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday with services beginning at 2:00 p.m.. Interment will follow to the old Spanish Cove Cemetery in Lillian, AL. FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME SOUTH, 100 Beverly Pkwy, is in charge of arrangements.
