Jadon Clay Goins

Jadon Clay Goins, 19, passed away in Pensacola, Florida, where he was studying to prepare for a life of gospel ministry in service to His Lord Jesus Christ. He is survived by his parents, Matt and Dallita Goins and his brothers, Joash and Justus, of El Progreso, Honduras. He also leaves his grandparents, Bobby and Laura Goins and Alfred Clay I, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bettie Clay. Jadon was born February 19, 2004, in San José, Costa Rica. He grew up in El Progreso, Honduras, son of missionary church planters, and began from a young age to serve alongside his parents and two brothers to reach his community with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jadon had a beautiful soul. In typical middle-child fashion, he was quieter and more solemn than his brothers. But his quick wit and sense of humor would catch you when you least expected it. He was an incredibly hard worker, pitching in where he was needed, always quick to spot a need. His soccer skills and calm demeanor earned him the nickname “Smooth,” and his circle of friends was a tight, loyal one. He graduated from high school in May of 2022, well-prepared for college from his years of homeschool. He began his freshman career at Pensacola Christian College in the fall of 2022, eager to begin his studies in pastoral ministries as his father had over two decades before. His heart was to return to his home in Honduras and continue serving, eventually as a pastor. Having trusted Christ as his personal Savior in 2009, he loved God’s Word, lived out the gospel, and wanted to preach Jesus to those who needed to know Him. Jadon’s life and testimony are preaching the gospel today, not in the way any of us imagined, but in the way our Heavenly Father determined would bring Him the most glory. Christ has been seen in Jadon’s life, in his determination, his service, and his love. May his impact for the gospel be beyond what we even hoped and prayed for. In lieu of flowers, we have set up a scholarship fund in Jadon’s honor to further the education of a student or students pursuing full-time Christian service, or Missions at Pensacola Christian College. The scholarship has been designed to assist a student who shares Jadon’s passion for gospel impact through Christian service, especially related to global missions.
