Ivis Noreen Jay

Noreen Williams Jay 5/7/1939 – 10/14/2022 A native of Reno, Georgia. Noreen grew up in Panama City Florida and graduated from Bay High School in 1957. Shortly after graduation, she married the Reverend Donald Jay. She was a faithful wife, mother and servant of Christ. She served alongside her husband in his many pastorates often serving as the church secretary and treasurer. She raised three children and spent her time supporting them in their varied interest. Upon her husband’s retirement, she became the Assistant Director of Scenic Preschool in Pensacola and her loving hand has influenced the lives of many children in the Pensacola area. She was a faithful member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, and upon St. Andrews closing she became a member of Bellview UMC where she was a member of the Bellview Beauties and the Bellview Lunch Bunch. Her greatest desire in life was that all may accept Jesus as their personal savior. Noreen is preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Donald Jay; her son, Terry Jay; her father, Henry Vasco Williams; her mother, Hallie Montylde Williams Harrison; and her sister, Luverne Wadley. She is survived by her son, Jeff Jay; her daughter, Karen Harvey Lackey (Walter); her grandson, Robbie Harvey (Tiffany); and her granddaughter’s, Sara Jay Maxwell (Taylor) and Madalyn Jay; her great-grandchildren, Lane, JJ and Milo Harvey and Jamie and Colin Maxwell; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, located at 100 Beverly Parkway, Pensacola, on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM. The service will be at Bellview United Methodist Church, located at 4945 Saufley Field Road, Pensacola on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 9:00AM. Pastor Nancy Hammond will be officiating. Pallbearers will be David Jay, Denney Jay, Madalyn Jay, Mark Wadley, Robbie Harvey, Chase Barcus Honorary Pallbearers are The Bellview Beauties and The Bellview Lunch Bunch. Should friends desire memorials can be made to Bellview UMC or St. Jude's Children's Hospital FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME SOUTH, 100 Beverly Parkway, Pensacola, is entrusted with arrangements.
