Harlan Jackson "Jack" Parr

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Harlan Jackson “Jack” Parr of Molino, FL. Jackson passed away due to complications from Marfan’s syndrome on August 11, 2024, at the young age of 25. Jack was born in Pensacola, FL on March 5, 1999, to his mother, Jaime Parr and father. Jack was a graduate of Northview High School in Century, FL. He attended John Deere Technical School at Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia, MS, and graduated from welding school at George Stone Technical College in Pensacola, FL. Jack was employed by Golding Barge Line, Inc., out of Vicksburg, MS. Jack found his passion as a Tankerman aboard the Melody Golding. Jack is preceded in death by his mother, Jamie Lyn Parr; and his beloved brother, Joshua Parr. He is survived by his loving grandparents, Harlan and Debbie (Perry) Parr; his adoring girlfriend, Chassidy Brooks “Sally”; his Aunt Amanda and Uncle Tony, and his cousins, Kadence and Zola Grace Ward. He is also survived by his biological father, Jeffrey Osley. Jack loved hunting, cruising the Escambia River in his boat, singing karaoke, and hanging out with his Sally and the friends he considered family. Our family would like to express our sincerest appreciation to the medical staff at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN, and the exceptional medical staff at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL. We would like to thank Dr. Davies (Cardiothoracic Surgeon), Dr. Rowse (Vascular Surgeon), Dr. Banks (Vascular Surgeon Resident), Nurse Practitioners Amanda and Diane, and his nurses Joshua, Avery, and Hayleigh for their diligent and compassionate care they showed Jack. We want to convey our heartfelt gratitude to Golding Barge Line, Inc., for their continued presence throughout this whole ordeal. They have never wavered in their commitment to Jack or his family. Thanks to our friends at First Baptist Cantonment, we have no words except, that we love you. To Jack’s Sally (you know who you are), thank you for really loving our boy. You made a big difference in his life!! By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong.
