Grover William "Zack" Price, IV

Zack, without warning, suddenly and tragically passed away and was welcomed into the Lord’s arms on the morning of July 15th. He was born October 30th, 1988 in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri Army Hospital. He grew up in Pensacola, Florida surrounded by family and friends. He has a long family heritage in the Pensacola area from the pre-statehood era. He was a good athlete and played on High School baseball and basketball teams while living with his Father in Nederland, Texas. He was a standout player on the Basketball team and played First Base on the Baseball team. He returned to Pensacola where he graduated from High School and then joined the Army. He was immediately sent to Iraq and fought in Iraqi Freedom and Iraqi Enduring Freedom campaigns. He was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division, 5-7 Calvary at Fort Stewart, Georgia. He was a Calvary Scout and faithfully served at the rank of Specialist, E-4. He also lived in Germany with his former wife / life-long friend Lori and thoroughly enjoyed living there. He attended college at Chattahoochee, Valley Georgia Community College. In Phoenix, Georgia. He was an excellent student and achieved being on the President’s Honor Roll List while in College for several semesters. He recently coached his son’s (Sawyer) T-Ball Little League team at NEP Ball Field. He was an excellent father that doted on his children and they adored him as well. His unique personality was larger than life and his quick wit was legendary. He made friends easily and remained surrounded by a large group of long-time friends his entire life. His departing was not our plan. He had grown into such a sweet, caring, fantastic parent. He was dearly loved by all family and was very close to his brother Taylor. Our hearts are broken but we ask that he please pass with peace and without fear into the hands of the angels and Holy Spirit with God by his side to forever reside with Him in heaven. We miss him but know that we will be together soon in Heaven. Zack is survived by his loving family, which includes: Grandparents-Ann Price and G.W. “Bill” Price; Parents-Grover William (Zane) Price and Tonya Marie Brown; Brother- Taylor Price; Former wife and Mother of son Sawyer-Lori McKenzie Sumlin; Mother of daughter Hayzlee Price- Brittany Hughes; Son- Sawyer Fynn Price (41/2 years old); Hayzlee Faye Price- (11 1/2 months old) Services will be held 9:00 Monday, July 20 at Faith Chapel North. T. C. Brown will be officiating. Burial will be at 1100 at Pensacola Naval Air Station, Barrancas National Cemetery. He will have full military honors at Graveside. The graveside service is limited to family due to the current naval base restricted. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are: Taylor Price, Brandon Brown, Bo Brown, Austin Brown, Jordan Brown, Colon Lamy, Aaron Lamy, Jerrod Gibbs and Cameron Gibbs, and as a honorary pallbearers are: A.J. Godwin, Dustin Kervin, Doug Driver, Clint Webb, Jay Webb, Nicholas Huffman, Matt Miller Trenton Scorborough, David Hubner and Zachary Price..
