Nell Armbruster 1933-2014 Nell Armbruster: June 12, 1933 to Oct. 24, 2014 Total Direct Descendants: 40 She is proceeded in death by two of her grandchildren: Ashley Nichole Maclure and Jason O’Neil Hill. Left behind are her 9 children: Deborah Armbruster, Judith Hill, Pamela Meyers, Penelope Maclure, James Armbruster, Ann Selland, Charles Armbruster and Margaret Christie; 19 living grandchildren: C. Nell Stanton, Colin Stanton, Christopher Hill, Richard Paul Meyer, Christopher Meyer, Jessica Maclure, Lacey Armbruster, James Armbruster Jr., Michael Selland, Megan Selland, Matthew Selland, Marshall Selland, Heather Armbruster, Arden Armbruster, Ashley Mooneyham, Alexandria Christie, Olivia Christie, Noah Christie, Shuree’ Hix; and 15 great grandchildren: Ryan Beaman, Angel Meyers, Jackson Meyers, Alivia Meyers, Aubrey Meyers, Cadence Hix, Titan Hix, Sage Hix, Madelynn Selland, Miller Selland, Maleah Selland, Mason Selland, Maxwell Selland, Ashton Wyse, Daylin Mooneyham. Nell moved to Pensacola in 1971 and worked as an editor for the US Government for 37 yrs. Her greatest love was her family, and she took her matriarchal responsibilities very seriously. She was inspiring, feared, respected, revered, and above all: loved. Genealogy and working in her garden became her passions after retirement. She wrote a book that tracked her lineage back to the 1600s. She loved reading, gardening, and singing in the church choir. Nell was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. After retirement, she began most days in her garden sitting on her swing, drinking coffee, and watching her birds. She gardened until it was too hot, then she went inside and started on her genealogy. She will be missed by all who knew her. Viewing will be held at Faith Chapel Wednesday October 29th from 5 to 7pm. Mass will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church on Thursday October 30th at 10am. Burial will be at Weed Cemetery in Brantley, Alabama at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, mother would like donations to go to Covenant Hospice, Pensacola.
