Diane Lynn Selinka

Diane Lynn Selinka, 74, passed away peacefully into her eternal home with the LORD on June 16, 2018, surrounded by her precious family. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Diane was deeply loved by all who knew her and experienced the selfless love she gave out of a pure heart of gold. Born in Lakewood, New Jersey on May 18, 1944, to Joseph and Ethel Saladino, Diane is preceded in death by her parents and brother Joseph. She is survived by her beloved husband Robert (Bob) and her children: Richard Miller; Terry Soucie; Julie Braswell (Curtis); Janet Mejias (Eddy); Lynn Dunbar; and Ellen Couture (Ronnie). Her 11 grandchildren are: Derek (Sarah); Chastity (John); Miranda; Jared; Brandon (Amanda); Krista; Carlee; Jessy; Josh; Aly (Josh); and Garrett (Mariah). She has 7 great-grandchildren (and one on the way): Sterling; John-Michael; Aubrey; Joseph; Jackson; Matthew; and Esmae. Her siblings are Gary Saladino (Hazel) and Lori Smith. Diane worked hard to support her children as a line cook at various locations on NAS Pensacola for over 20 years. She was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to her family and friends. She loved playing bingo with her friend Rose and going to Biloxi with her sister Lori to try her luck in the casinos. She loved going out to eat in Pensacola and befriended all of the waitresses at the restaurants she frequented; she never met a stranger. She let her colorful personality shine through the bright polish always painted on her nails. More than anything, Diane loved to be surrounded by her family and friends and looked forward to Sunday gatherings at her home. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 21, 2018, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial Service from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, 100 Beverly Parkway, Pensacola, FL. Interment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Curtis Braswell, Derek Soucie, Brandon Mejias, Garrett Couture, John Guidroz, and Courtney Lumpkin. Special thanks to Sacred Heart Oncology and Radiology, and Vitas Hospice for the special care they provided. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
