David Cagle

David Marshall Cagle was born on September 13, 1961, at the Eglin Air Force Base. He died at his home in Cantonment on March 25, 2020 at the age of 58 years old. He is survived by his wife Judy, his daughter Sarah, his son Adam and granddaughter Audree, his son-in-law Samuel Witter and his 4 other grandchildren – Nathanael, Miriam, Daniel and Michael Witter. He is also survived by his mother Margaret Cagle and his sister Darlene (and Rick) Bullard and family. Although his death had nothing to do with the coronavirus that we are all suffering through, it will delay the time for us to have a memorial service. When the coronavirus threat has passed and travel and gathering restrictions have been lifted, we plan to have a memorial service in Pensacola, Florida. David graduated from Trinity Baptist Academy in Jacksonville in the class of 1979. He then graduated from Trinity Baptist College in 1983 and got married a couple days later. He and Judy moved to Pensacola in 1984. David sought to follow the Lord’s will for his life. He founded and operated the King James Bible Society since 1985. It started out as a single project to provide some Bibles for a church in the Philippines. It grew to include many countries over the years. Through the generosity of like-minded Christians, thousands of Bibles, New Testaments, and gospels were sent free of charge to missionaries and pastors overseas who could not otherwise afford them. A number of those distributors were already in Heaven to greet David when he arrived. In addition to his Bible ministry, David was a Sunday school teacher and superintendent for over 25 years. He was involved in VBS, song-leading, our church’s Missions Fair, and Teacher Workshops at the Bible Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida. Back in 2013, David had open heart surgery to replace his mitral valve. This surgery allowed us to have another seven years together to serve the Lord. This past year it had gotten more difficult for him to get around. On the morning of March 25, he couldn’t wake up . . . until he DID wake up! What a surprise that must have been! He is now in Heaven with our daughter Rebekah who passed away a year ago. While those of us who remain are bereaved, I am thankful that he chose a life of service to God and remained faithful to the end.
