Daniel Anthony Donohoe

Daniel (Danny) Donohoe, 67, passed away on December21st, 2017 after years of health problems with his lungs and heart. He died in his home in Atlanta, Georgia. Daniel Anthony Donohoe was born on February 10th, 1950 to Robert Michael and Dorothy Ann Donohoe in Pensacola, Florida. He was baptized shortly after his birth at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Pensacola. Born into a military family, Daniel traveled frequently; living in California, Tennessee, Michigan, Florida, and Mississippi. He also lived in Italy on two different occasions. His second visit two Italy included going to school at Vicenza High School and commuting back to Aviano Italy where his family lived. He graduated from Vicenza High School in 1968. During his lifetime, he struggled with asthma and made frequent visits to the doctors and hospitals where he lived. He had to leave his family in Italy due to the severity of his asthma attacks as a result of the weather in Italy. So, at 18 years of age, he ventured on his own in the United States looking for work and a permeant residence. After living with his oldest brother for a time, he eventually decided to take up residence in Atlanta Georgia where he remained until his death. Danny worked primarily in the restaurant industry and did well as long as his health would permit. He also was very busy in charitable work in and around the Atlanta area. So extensive was his work in charity that he was recognized by the city of Atlanta by naming December 15th, 1991 “Danny Donohoe Day” in the metro area. After retiring from the restaurant business, Danny began developing significant heart problems that eventually took his life. Danny is preceded by his mother, Dorothy Ann and his father Robert Michael. He is survived by his siblings; John Delaney, Robert Michael Jr., Mary Catherine Corder, Joseph Henry, James Raymond and a host of nieces and nephews; Cheryl, Scott, Amber, Amie, Renee, Jennifer, Joseph, Shannon, Sean, Suzanne, Brad, Ben, Emily, Dalton, Logan, Chance. Funeral services were held on the Feast of Holy Innocence, December 28th at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Milton Florida. A Rosary preceded the Mass. He was interned at Holy Cross Cemetery in Pensacola immediately after the Mass. He is buried next to his grandparents and his mother.
