Corinne Elizabeth Barrow

Our loving mother, Corrine Elizabeth Rabren, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on June 7, 2025. She was 95 years old. As a young mother, Corinne was a devoted stay-at-home mom, deeply involved in her children’s lives and activities. She was always someone her children could go to for advice, love and comfort. After our father retired and moved to Pensacola, Florida, she began working at Pen Air Federal Credit Union, where she remained until her retirement in 1996. Corinne also became involved with Credit Professionals, serving as president and holding several other leadership roles within the organization. In retirement, Corinne embraced travel and discovered a lifelong passion for genealogy. She became an active member of both the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Daughters of the Confederacy. A collector at heart, she especially loved Rose Medallion china and Depression glass. She also enjoyed playing games with friends and family- Skip-Bo and canasta were among her favorites. Corrine was born on April 23, 1930, on the Rabren Homestead in Conecuh County, Alabama. She was the oldest of five children born to Daniel Houston Rabren and Tommie Lucille Barfield. She graduated from Evergreen High School in 1948. Later, she met her future husband, Thaddeus P. Nobles, Sr., who was serving in the U.S. Navy. Throughout their life together, she would often tell us she moved 27 times. With every relocation, Mom turned each new duty station into an adventure. From rural Theodore, Alabama, to bustling cities like Honolulu, Hawaii, she made sure we learned history and appreciated the uniqueness of every place we called home. Corinne is preceded in death by her husbands, Thaddeus Preston Nobles and Lawrence Reston Barrow; her son, Philip Steven Nobles; and her brothers, Merrill and Howard Rabren. She is survived by her children: Joanne Salter (Bobby) of Gulf Breeze, Florida; Thaddeus P. Nobles, Jr. (Donna) of Pensacola, Florida; and Karen Bowers (Paul) of Gulf Breeze, Florida. She also leaves behind her sister, Jeanette Gibson of Atmore, Alabama; brother, Bobby Ray Rabren, of Boise, Idaho; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
