Cordie Lee Shaw

Cordia Lee Shaw, affectionately known as “Cordie”, was born on April 19, 1950, to her beloved parents, the late George H. Boxiley and Robbie L. Edwards. On October 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family, Cordie peacefully transitioned to her eternal home. A woman of grace, creativity, and unwavering faith, Cordie was a master of many trades. Her talents spanned porcelain doll making, calligraphy, sewing, and nearly every facet of artistry. She poured her heart into each creation, leaving behind a legacy of beauty and craftsmanship. Cordie gave her life to Christ at a young age and was baptized in 1963 at the Carpenter Street Church of Christ. Her faith remained the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through every season with strength and serenity. On October 11, 1974, Cordie married the love of her life, Floyd L. Shaw Sr. Together, they recently celebrated 51 years of devoted marriage, a true testament to their enduring love and partnership. As a patriotic military spouse, Cordie supported her husband with pride and resilience, embodying grace in every role she held. Cordie was a faithful Christian, a generous host, and a nurturing matriarch. She found joy in reading her Bible and novels, cherishing time with her family, and watching the hummingbirds dance in her backyard oasis. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Floyd L. Shaw Sr.; her beloved sons, Terrance L. Shaw, Eric L. Shaw, and Floyd L. Shaw Jr.; her cherished grandchildren, Issaiah Baker, Brandon Baker, Ramon Barrios, Anjelyka Shaw, Cordia L.R. Shaw, Adrionna Baker, and Veronica Shaw; and her precious great-grandchild, Analeigha Grace Shaw. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Patricia Isom (Jimmy Isom) of Byhalia, Mississippi; her brother, Rickie Jones of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and her brother and sister-in-law, Reginald and Belinda Shaw of Memphis, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Boxiley of Memphis, Tennessee. Her legacy of love, faith, and strength lives on in each of them. She is further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and an incalculable number of church family, neighbors, and devoted friends who were touched by her warmth and grace. Cordie lived her life in love and gracefulness. Her poise knew no bounds, and her presence left a lasting mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
