In memory of a dear wife and loving mother Time passes.. memories stay.. loved and remembered every day. Christine E. Bland, 70, of Pensacola passed away peacefully, June 25, 2022, with her family at her bedside. She was married to David Bland in 1971. Together they built a life filled with love, kindness, and adoration. They created a bond of strength among themselves that extended into their children forming a family unity of respect, honesty, and humility. Christine was strict with her expectations and often blunt, but it was always in love. She was compassionate, thoughtful, and a “mom” to all. She played a very active role in her children’s lives as they were her world. Christine held roles such as Cub Scout Den Leader, Softball Coach, and was involved in baseball and band boosters. She and her husband also enjoyed their time participating in a bowling league. Christine was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. As her health declined, she often repeated the quote: "That’s life.” A few of her favorite things was her love of eagles, yellow roses, and aggravating some fat guy for 51 years. Christine is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Magdalene Goodale; father, Joe Eddins; two brothers, Harold Eddins and Buddy Eddins; and three sisters, Lilly Key, Evelyn Roche and Peewee Sangester. Christine is survived by her husband, David Bland; two sons, David “Kelly” Bland (wife Bonne’) and Kevin Bland (fiancé Kimberly McCoy); daughter, Kathy Dietrich (Bland); grandchildren, Amanda Randolph, Brittney Randolph, Taylor Z, Dietrich, Andrew D. Nelson, Dakota Bland, and Justin Bland; and great grandchildren, Jarah Guillotte and Christopher Reed. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South with Chaplain Ken Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery.
