Charles Raymond Tesch

Charles Raymond Tesch October 27, 1947 – October 6, 2021 (age 73) Charles Raymond Tesch (Chuck), 73, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2021 in his home after a prolonged illness. Chuck was born on October 27, 1947 in Wausau, Wisconsin, and was son of the late Raymond W. Tesch and Verna L. (Hanke) Tesch. After graduating from DC Everest High School in 1966, he briefly attended the University of Wisconsin before joining the United States Navy in May 1968. During his 30-year career in the Navy, Chuck rose to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer and served at the Recruit Training Command San Diego, California; Naval Security Group Attachment (NSGA) Skaggs Island, California; Naval Communications Station (NAVCOMMSTA) Philippines; the USS Wainwright (DLG-28); the USS Truxton (DLGN-35); the USS Fox (DLG-33); NAVCOMMSTA Honolulu, Hawaii; Naval Security Group Detachment (NSGD) Kamiseya, Japan; Naval Intelligence Processing System Support Activity (NIPSSA) Suitland, Maryland; NAVCOMMSTA San Diego, California; NSGD Yokosuka, Japan; NSGA Galeta Island, Panama; Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station (NAVCOMTELSTA) San Diego, California; NSGA Sabana Seca, Puerto Rico; and the Naval Technical Training Center (NAVTECHTRACEN) Pensacola, Florida. After his retirement from the Navy in June 1998, he continued working as a groundskeeper at Solutia Golf Club (now Pensacola Golf Club at Cypress Lakes), an installer of network lines at Coastal Computers, a tester of garage doors and openers at Wayne Dalton, and as the owner and operator of Garage Systems Solutions. Chuck was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a longtime member of the American Legion Post 340 (Pensacola, Florida). Chuck will be remembered with great love and fondness by his wife of 45 years, Paula Darlean (Wagley) Tesch (Pensacola, Florida); daughter, Danielle Tesch (Newark, Delaware); sister, Barbara (Tesch) Prindle and her husband Fred Prindle (North Branch, Minnesota); sister, Laura (Tesch) Konrady and her husband Phillip Konrady (Eldridge, Iowa); sister, Janet Tesch-Gonzalez and her husband Oiden Gonzalez (Schofield, Wisconsin); niece, Erin (Prindle) Eneboe (New Richmond, Wisconsin); nephew, Christopher Konrady (Eldridge, Iowa); nephew, Matthew Konrady (Eldridge, Iowa); niece, Stephanie Konrady (New York City, New York); and niece, Lillian Gonzalez (Milwaukee, Wisconsin). A viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 13th, 2021 at 1 pm at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, with the funeral services immediately following at 2 pm. He will be laid to rest in Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida, on October 14th, 2021 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Chuck’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Dementia Society of America.
