Charles Thomas Hutchins

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Charles Thomas (Tom) Hutchins, who left us on July 29, 2024, at the age of 74. A devoted husband, father, doctor, and friend, Tom touched countless lives through his work as a chiropractor and his deep love for the outdoors. Born on January 20, 1950, in St. Petersburg, Florida, Tom spent his childhood in Tarpon Springs, Florida with his 9 siblings, during which he developed an innate curiosity about the natural world and a highly competitive spirit. His commitment to his patients’ health and well-being was matched only by his business acumen and unyielding passion. Graduating from Life College of Chiropractic, Tom dedicated over four decades to his practice, patients, and colleagues, becoming a trusted mentor and beloved figure in the community. His love for chiropractic care stemmed from his desire to help others; his patients were not just clients but friends who knew that in Tom’s hands, they would find both relief and a listening ear. Later in life, he continued to care for others and embody hospitality through owning and operating a successful Bed & Breakfast for many years. Away from his practice, Tom was a man who lived life to the fullest. His weekends were often spent on a boat, fishing rod in hand, patiently waiting for the perfect catch alongside family, friends, or beloved dogs. When the seasons changed, he donned his hunting gear and ventured into the wilderness, where the thrill of the hunt brought him a profound sense of peace. Tom’s competitive spirit shone most brightly on the tennis court and other athletic arenas, where he relished every moment spent in the company of his fellow players, who were more like family than opponents. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Pam, his children, Adam Hutchins, Matthew Hutchins (Bridget), Vivian Ward (Carl), Andrea Womack (Michael), Jacob Hutchins, Jennifer Passeretti (Joseph), and Christopher Hutchins, as well as his 12 grandchildren who will carry on his legacy of adventure and care. Tom’s presence will be sorely missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will forever live on in the rustling of the leaves, the ripple of the water, and the echo of a well-struck tennis ball. Rest in peace, Tom. Your life was a gift, and your memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know you. You will be sorely missed by those who loved you, but we know you’re now enjoying never-ending days on the water with Patches and finding all the 12 points your heart can desire.
