Cecelia Ann Ard

Pensacola, FL - Cecelia Ann Ard (Warrick) was born September 21, 1948 to Hubert and Annie Warrick and passed away at West Florida Covenant Hospice on September 19, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. Cecelia was a homemaker who devoted her life to her children and husband. She was very protective of her children and made sure they were always well taken care of. As a Jay, FL native, southern cooking was in her genes, and being the good mama that she was, she always had a delicious supper on the table every night. Fried pork chops, potato salad, and chicken and dumplings were some of her specialties! Giving her children material things was usually not an option for her, but she spent many hours of quality time with them. In the summer, Tammy, Wanda, Frankie, and Ricky went to "Camp Cecelia" in the backyard while Frank went to work. Instead of sitting and watching the kids play kickball, she would join them. She also spent many volunteer hours at Ensley Elementary when her children were there. She was a very caring and giving person. She attended church at Ensley United Methodist Church and loved it there. She made many friends there that were like family to her. She enjoyed going to Grits and Gospel every Wednesday morning. The church members were a second family to her. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Ard, as well as her parents. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Gill and brothers, William, Herbert, and Carlton; sisters, Katherine and Emily. She is survived by husband of 52 years, Frank Ard Jr.; daughters, Tammy (Larry) and Wanda (Ahmad); son, Frank Ard; and granddaughter, Jessica Merritt. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert, Danny, and Coy; sisters, Faye and Nell. Finally, she is survived by her beloved dog, Rambo. Services will be held at Ensley United Methodist Church on September 28, 2019. Visitation will begin at 9:30 and service is at 10:30. Pallbearers will be Larry Merritt, Mark Bryan, Russell Warrick, Johnny Wayne Warrick, Wayne Slack, and Ahmad Safakhoo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Cecelia's name to West Florida Covenant Hospice or Ensley United Methodist Church. Cecelia was loved by her family as well as many friends and will be greatly missed. Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, 100 Beverly Pkwy, is entrusted with the arrangements.
