Burniese "Peaches" Moore

Burniese Hobbs Moore August 21, 1929 – February 16, 2021 On Tuesday, February 16, 2021, Burniese Hobbs Moore, a loving wife, and mother to five children passed away at the age of 91. Burniese was born in Holmes County, FL on August 21, 1929 to Ola Griffin Hobbs and Columbus Alexander Hobbs Sr. She was married to Charles Thomas Moore from Snow Hill, NC and together they raised six boys - Lynn Paul Moore, Chris Thomas Moore, Dale Charles Moore, and Charles-Edwards Pate Moore and two nephews, Tommy Hobbs and Freddie Hobbs. Burniese was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy, infant daughter, Dina Kay, son, Chris, and grandson, Shane. She is survived by her sons, Lynn and his wife Rhonda, Dale and his wife, Sheila, and her son Pate, her grandchildren Kajsa Huckaba, Kyla Lowell, Brennen Moore, Chandler Moore, and Taneal Hobbs, and her nieces Reta Hobbs-Justice, Melissa Jenkins, and Kathy Hobbs Kenner, and nephews Alex Hobbs Jr, and Chip McDuffie. She was passionate about gardening and the outdoors. She loved caring for her fruit trees and tending to her plants and flowers - especially her dogwoods and camellias. She was married to the love of her life and soulmate, Tommy for almost seventy years. She was a determined southern woman who cared deeply for her family and friends. A woman of great Christian faith she believed in the power of prayer. She was, without doubt, a mighty prayer warrior. Most importantly, she was “Peaches”. She had the most incredible ability to connect with anyone who crossed her path. She always had a smile, an optimistic outlook, a kind word, and a generous heart. The back door was always open, a cup of coffee waiting to be poured, and a warm conversation to be had. More than a wife, a mother, and a Christian woman, “Peaches” is who we carry in our hearts and share with the world. A celebration of life, will be held on February 26, 2021, at Liberty Church, 2221 South Blue Angel Parkway, Pensacola, FL. 32506. Visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am, service at 11 am, and the graveside burial service will be held at the Barrancas Cometary at Pensacola Naval Base at 1 pm. She will be laid to rest with her love, Tommy Moore. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to missionary Judy Hernandez and her children’s school, Alfa y Omega in Guatemala.
