Branden H. Penegar

Branden Penegar, 20, was born May 6, 1992 and went into the arms of Jesus on March 9, 2013 due to complications from blood clots and pneumonia. Branden was vibrant and full of life. “BP” as he was known by so many, graduated from Tate in 2011. He played football all 4 years and was inducted into the Tate High School Student Hall of Fame. He then returned to his love of football as an assistant coach for the freshman football team and also for the varsity tennis team. Branden was an active member of Gonzalez United Methodist Church where he was involved in the youth ministry. Branden loved his family, fishing, NASCAR, FSU sports, Tate HS sports, Perdido River, coaching and hanging with his friends but most of all laughing and making others laugh. One of his trademarks was his huge smile and one of a kind laugh. He had a way to brighten up everyone around him. If you were in a bad mood he would flash that smile, crack a joke or laugh that silly laugh and it would immediately brighten your mood. His infectious personality touched everyone that came into contact with him. Today he is fishing with his “PawPaw” in God's glorious river, smiling and laughing. We will always have an angel looking down upon us. Branden is survived by his parents, Elbert Penegar and Tammie Knowles Penegar; brother, Tyler Penegar; Nana, Nora Knowles and many other family members. He was preceded in death by his “PawPaw” Frankie Knowles. Your passing leaves a big void in not only our lives but in the lives of your many friends, your players, your teammates and youth. We are so very proud to call you son, brother and grandson. You are loved. Pallbearers will be: Tyler Penegar, Kyle Howard, Jacob Hedden, Chadd Kelley, Kendall Hendry and Trevor Barry. Honorary Pallbearers: Charlie Hamrick, Sandy Bonucchi, Chase Carroll, Brandon Ross, Ken Pitts, Kenny Ray Smith, Nate Hicks, Kevin Jackson, and Josh Ross. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. at Gonzalez United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Ramsey officiating.
