Beverly "Betsy" Lynn Lanham

Beverly “Betsy” Lynn Hamby Lanham 1941-2024 It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, who left us on November 27, 2024 at the age of 83. Beverly “Betsy” Lynn Hamby Lanham of Cantonment, FL, was born in Acme, West Virginia on September 10, 1941 to Claude and Juanita Hamby. She was raised in the heart of coal country where her father was a coal miner and her mother was a nurse. She was a majorette at East Bank High School where she met a handsome Pioneer football player that she would later marry. Following marriage, her husband’s career led them from West Virginia to Ohio, Texas, Alabama, and finally to Florida. While in Texas and Alabama, Beverly worked in the field of telecommunications. She loved to travel with her husband and together they visited many places, including Israel, where they were baptized in the Jordan River. Beverly loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Pine Terrace Baptist Church in Milton, FL, where she served in various capacities. During her life she enjoyed many hobbies including, horseback riding, boating, camping, fishing, golfing, and could spend hours shoe shopping. While in Alabama, she spent many Saturdays in Troy where the “Sound of the South” always brought a smile to her face. Upon moving to Florida, Beverly was a loyal supporter and fan of the FSU Seminoles. She loved college football and cheered loudest for the Seminoles and the Mountaineers. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family and enjoyed cooking and baking for them. She loved sharing stories of her childhood including routine visits to the company store, her Witchers Holler story, and her Dad’s return from the war. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Juanita Hamby; brother, Harold Hamby; sisters, Kay Graham and Dawn White; and grandson, Collin Hallmark Wilson. She is survived by the love of her life, Larry Franklin Lanham; daughters, Angela Lanham Massey, Leslie Kay Lanham, and Wendy Lanham Wilson; grandchildren, Melody Lynn Morgan, Joshua Wayne Williams, Larry Jordan Williams, Hunter Cole Wilson, and Seth Thomas Wilson; great grandchildren, Landree Williams and Jett Williams; and her fur baby, Fiona. Pallbearers are Joshua Williams, Jordan Williams, Hunter Wilson, Seth Wilson, Bryan Hamby, and Brad Cochran.
