Avery Len Demos

Avery Len Demos, age 39 of Berrydale, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 19th 2025. We are comforted in knowing that Avery was greeted in heaven with open arms by his beautiful mother Diane Hellums, his father Michael Demos, his niece Bristol Thompson, and many other family and friends. Avery has sadly left behind four beautiful children: Jayden, Adrien, Avery, and Ayra, who will all miss him dearly. He also left behind his beloved girlfriend, Shelly Slaton; Two older brothers, Greg Thompson (Tashia), of Jay, FL, and Brandon Thompson (Christy), of Foley, AL; Nieces, Makayla, Katie, Abigail, and Blakely; Nephews Greg and James, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Avery was born on December 1st, 1985 to Diane Cochran and Michael Demos. He grew up in Berrydale, FL and attended school in Jay, FL. Avery went on to work in construction which he absolutely loved, as he was so proud about the jobs he was working on. He loved planes and finally got the opportunity to start flying in recent years. Most important of all, Avery dedicated his life to his children who he loved deeply. Avery was always the loud and proud one in the bunch, and you hardly ever saw him without a smile on his face. There was never anything he wouldn’t do for anyone and he was always there without hesitation when you needed him. Avery loved to hunt, fish and pretty much do anything outdoors. He always lived life to the absolute fullest, and was down for anything as long as it was with family and friends. Avery’s biggest step in life was this past December when he dedicated his life to Christ at Pine Forrest Assembly of God in Cantonment, FL. We know his momma was so very proud of him and had a huge smile on her face. We will all miss Avery tremendously, especially those big tight bear hugs. We know that he was ready to accept and wear his beautiful angel wings, but our hearts were not ready to let him go. We take comfort in knowing that there is no other place he would rather be other than heaven, in the arms of the one person he loved more than life itself, his mother. The family would like to thank West Florida Hospital ICU for their kindness and compassion. They were absolutely wonderful. We want to extend a special thank you to his sweet nurse Kyla, who never left our sides, and was there for all of us until the very end. In lieu of flowers, we ask for you to consider making a donation to a scholarship fund for his children.
