Alma Ann Jackson

Alma Ann Davis Jackson was born on January 26, 1936, in Panama City, Florida and died at the age of 88 on January 28, 2024, in Tallahassee, Florida. Alma was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years - John Marion Jackson; her mother, Rosa Mae (Goodwin) Davis; her father, Thomas Jasper Davis; her brothers – Thomas James (Bubba), Marvin, Karl, and Johnny; and her sister Opal Davis Corley. Her grandson, Chad William Langley, Jr also preceded her in death. Alma leaves to mourn her loss, her daughters Paula Holder (Billy) of Tallahassee and Pamela Langley of Pensacola along with three grandchildren Chase Langley (Bryttni), Dakota Holder and Bailee Holder and two great-grandchildren Reign and Nova Langley. Her sister Betty Davis Jenkins of Tallahassee is her lone surviving sibling. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and in-laws to cherish wonderful memories of her. Alma and John were married on August 28, 1954. John was in the military and Alma followed him to multiple military stations which included Pensacola, Norfolk Virginia, Naples Italy and finally settling in Pensacola. She was a girl scout leader, a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a fast pitch softball player in her spare time. She also worked for many years at Muldoon Ford, Sears, and Gayfers in Pensacola. After John retired from the Navy, they began to travel around the United States and Europe. They traveled to Italy, Greece, France, England, Scotland, The Netherlands and Germany with John’s sister Shirley and brother-in-law Tom. In the USA, they traveled with her sister Opal and her brother-in-law Bill. Locally, they also enjoyed the beach, bowling, and their daughters’ activities as chaperones. Alma loved playing Bingo, dropping a nickel at the Biloxi casinos and Word search games. She was always the life of the party at family gatherings. She and John also made a handsome couple on the dance floor impressing others with their jitterbug skills. Her humor and the ability to make people laugh are what many family members remember. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and Granny to her family and a friend to many. She was very loved by all. As per her last wishes, no Funeral service is being planned. The inurnment will be with her husband John at Barrancas National Cemetery Pensacola Naval Air Station.
