Alice Fay Singleton

Alice Fay Cropper Singleton, 74, of Milton, Florida went to join her Heavenly Father on June 8, 2021 after a courageous five-year battle with Ovarian Cancer. Alice was born February 19, 1947 in Pensacola, Florida to Boyce Sr. and Ruth Cropper. She was a member of East Brent Baptist Church. A graduate of Pensacola Tech Class of 1965 and a proud member of the Pensacola Civics Club championship square dance and clogging teams Alice was a former bookkeeper for Barnes Supermarkets in Pensacola. After the family moved to Crestview, she found her passion working in Home Health Care until her retirement. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved all things Elvis, music from the 50s and 60s and sharing a laugh. Alice was a fan of the Florida State Seminoles football team. Alice was preceded in death by the love of her life Raymond Earl, parents Boyce Sr. and Ruth, sister Joyce, brothers Boyce Jr. & Sonny. She is survived by her son Richard Singleton, daughter Cynthia Ruth Singleton, granddaughter Chelsea Singleton Hughes and great granddaughter Annabelle Alice Hughes. Her companion of 16 years Baby Dog, brother Rodney as well as her Brother-in-law Hollis (Mary) Singleton, sister- in- laws Carolyn & Mary Ann Cropper, cherished cousins Janice Ross and Shirley Watson. her "adopted" children David, Kris and Donna & numerous dearly loved nephews and nieces. Alice was the heart of our family. She never met a stranger, and she was loved by many . The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Danny Elsayah, Shannon, the staff of the Sacred Heart Cancer Center as well as the staff of the West Florida Hospital CCU, to the members of moms Sunday school class at East Brent Baptist Church & Brother Dale Funeral arrangements are through Faith Chapel South in Pensacola, Florida. Services will be held on June 18th at Faith Chapel followed by interment at Barrancas National Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will start at 11:00 A.M. for family and 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. for friends and other loved ones. "I'm Free" Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free I’m following the path God has laid you see. I took His hand when I heard him call I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way I found that peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Oh yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I savored much Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and peace to thee God wanted me now; He set me free.
