Alice "Faye" Peterson

Alice Faye Peterson June 12, 1938-January 12, 2020 Alice “Faye” Peterson, age 81, passed away on January 12, 2020, at West Florida Hospital, Covenant Hospice. She was born on June 12, 1938, in Seminole, Alabama, to John Henry and Stella Coleman. Mrs. Peterson grew up in Enon, Florida, and graduated in 1956 from Ernest Ward High School. She and her husband, Peter Peterson, were married 58 years and raised three children. She was a woman of faith and a member of Heritage Baptist Church, in Cantonment, FL. A proud grandmother, affectionately called Gram, Faye loved her four grandchildren and enjoyed sharing about them with friends and family. Mrs. Peterson had a gift for sewing and made many quilts through the years. She also enjoyed cross-stitching, gifting these treasures to her family and daily solving the newspaper’s latest crossword puzzle. On numerous occasions she accompanied her husband on trips to transport children and their parents to the Shriners Hospital in Tampa, FL for medical treatment. She is preceded in death by her mother, Stella Beck Coleman; father, John Henry Coleman; and brothers, Floyd and Otis Coleman. Mrs. Peterson is survived by her husband, Peter H. Peterson; daughter, Tina Roice; daughter, Rita (Brian) Malone; son, David (Pam) Peterson; sister, Sharon (David) Dawson Stephens; four grandchildren, Tara Robinson, John (Mandy) Butler, Hannah (David) Moorhead, and Haley (Bryce) Conchieri; and seven great-grandchildren. Our family would like to thank the nursing staff of West Florida Hospital and Covenant Hospice for their care and kindness. We would also like to thank our family and friends for the outpouring of prayers and expressions of sympathy. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Pastor James Locke officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM to 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 20, 2020.
