Margaret Louise Morris

Margaret Louise Morris, 87, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2022. Louise was born on February 22, 1935 in Vaiden Mississippi. She graduated from Vaiden High School in 1953, before attending Touro Nursing School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Upon her completion of nursing school in 1954, she joined the United States Navy and was commissioned as an Ensign. She served two years in the Navy, and was stationed in San Diego and Hawaii. Louise worked as a nurse at the VA Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi prior to moving to Cantonment in 1977, and working with her husband Don at the family-owned dry-cleaning business in Pensacola. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her soulmate, Don Cravey Morris. They were married in Jackson, Mississippi in February of 1968, and enjoyed their life together until his passing in February, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Roger Gladys Shelton, her son, Scott Pindel, her brother Lamar Shelton, and her sisters Hazel Stuart (A.N.), Inez Mason (M.L.), Rachel Mann (Charlie Pete), Kathleen Lassiter (Martin) and Barbara Faye Donald (Willie). She is survived by her brother, Paul Shelton (McCrea) and her two sons Mike Pindel (Josette) and Shea Morris (Sherry). She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was dedicated to her family and friends, and opened her heart with true kindness and compassion to those that she had just met. She loved her church and her friends at Pinewoods Presbyterian Church. She was truly an angel on earth, who was always willing to listen without judgement. She will be missed and Heaven is a little brighter upon her arrival! Services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home, Pensacola. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with funeral services commencing at 2:00 p.m. Following the funeral, a private burial service for family and close friends will take place at Bayview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the nonprofit volunteer organization - Friends of the Escambia County Animal Shelter - in Louise’s name.
