Pre-Planning
What is pre-planning?
Pre-planning means your family and friends will not have the burden of making difficult decisions for you when you die. They may find themselves emotional, distressed, or financially unable to deal with the situation.

Our funeral planning professionals can provide you with valuable information so that you can make choices that are right for you. Some of the decisions to be made include selecting a casket, vault, or urn, and choosing what type of service you would like. Because it is your plan, your family will know they are honoring your wishes.
Just like everything else, funeral and cremation costs rise with inflation. Using today's dollars, pre-planning with a guaranteed plan provides a solution to this dilemma. Those who fund a pre-planned service can assure their families that the choices made today will be honored in the future, and they will not be required to pay for funeral cost increases. Not only is pre-planning one of the most loving, considerate acts that you can do for your family, but it also makes good sense.
Why pre-plan?
There are many reasons why pre-planning a funeral/cremation in advance is a good idea. The death of a loved one can be the most difficult experience of a person's life. In order to relieve your family of the emotional and financial burden associated with funeral planning, Faith Chapel Funeral Home can properly assist you with arranging a funeral in advance. Consider the following advantages:
* Lets your wishes be known
* Eliminates emotional overspending
* Guarantees your future funeral/cremation costs at today's prices
* Exempt as an asset when qualifying for Medicaid or SSI benefits
* Gives you peace of mind knowing “it is all taken care ofâ€
Who should pre-plan?
Just about everyone can benefit from pre-planning, but it is especially important for people in these situations:
* Retired or about to retire
* Living Alone
* People concerned with providing for their parents, dependent children, or other relatives
* Those who will be living on a fixed income, such as Social Security Medicaid benefits or public aid.
* Those planning on entering a nursing home or other long term care facilities
* Those who wish to remove the burden of decision making from their family
* Those with strong preferences
What is involved?
Pre-planning consists of three simple steps:
1. Recording information about you and your family
2. Discussing your desires for your services with one of our pre-need counselors
3. Determining the best option to fund your funeral
You decide how may steps you want to take. Each step you take is one less step that your family will be left to deal with.
What are the funding options?
We offer several options for funding your pre-arrangement plans. You can make one single lump sum payment, or several payments spread out over 3, 5, 7, or 10 years. We can guarantee you that we will not ever ask your family to pay more, once your payments have been made…and in some cases, should death occur before payments are completed.
Our counselors are available to assist you in making your pre-arrangement plans at either of our funeral homes, or in the privacy of your own home.
Wouldn't I be better off investing money myself?
Invested money earns dividends or interest upon which income taxes must be paid. There is no guarantee that the investment would keep pace with increasing funeral/cremation costs. With our pre-planning program, you have the assurance that your plan has kept pace with inflation and there is no income tax liability.
What if I already have life insurance?
That's great! Life insurance provides survivors with money, but does not protect funeral/cremation costs against price increases. Most insurance is purchased to allow families time to adjust to lost income, to maintain or provide a standard of living for survivors. Pre-funding prevents life insurance proceeds from being depleted at the time of a loved one's death.
What if I move from the area?
Our plan is transferrable to any licensed funeral home.
What if I want to make changes in the future?
Changes may be made at any time.
What if the funeral home goes out of business?
Your plan will be transferred to a funeral home of your choice and will be honored.
Isn't funeral planning for older people?
Absolutely not! Pre-planning is a wise decision for everyone. In fact, more and more people in the 50's and 60's are prearranging their services as part of their retirement and financial planning. Younger people often carry ordinary life insurance to protect their families, and that's wise. It is equally wise for them to take the next steps to arrange and fund their services. By doing so, they relieve their loved ones of emotional and financial burdens when the need arises and enjoy the peace of mind that comes with having all their affairs in order.
