John Thomas “Tom Boy” Janes
1943-2016


Tomboy Janes of Brent Park passed away on Mon., Feb. 13, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Tomboy never met a stranger and was loved by all.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Janes; mother, Mama Bessie Smith; father, Clinton Janes; brothers, Mac Janes and Red Janes; and one son, John T. Janes, Jr.
Tomboy is survived by his sons, Mitch McDaniel and Chris Janes; daughter, Rhonda Janes; sisters, Mary Lou Jernigan and Merle Chavers; brother, Billy-Joe Janes; his favorite niece, Peggy Smith; his favorite nephew, Craig Jernigan; 7 grandkids and 4 great grandkids; and many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thurs., Feb. 16, 2017 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North. Burial will be held in Whitmire Cemetery following the services.
The family will receive friends at 12noon prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Heart Association.
